On 25 May 2018, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data became applicable. In view of this deadline and at the invitation of the German notariat, the CNUE held a workshop on data protection in Berlin on 5 February. Participants from 13 notariats took part in this initiative and shared the progress of their reflections with a view to complying with the new instrument. It was also the opportunity to exchange good practices already in place or in the process of being implemented at the level of the notarial chambers and in notary practices.
